Hector Gueler
Héctor Gueler is a principal and consulting actuary in Milliman's Argentina office, which is a base for Latin American projects.
He became a member of Fernando Mesquida & Associates in 1999 and the company joined Milliman in September 2013.
Experience
Héctor has more than 20 years of management and actuarial experience in insurance and reinsurance activities in Latin America.
He has been the technical manager of MetLife in Argentina, the pension fund administrator of Santander Bank, and the actuarial director of the local office of Watson Wyatt. He has also been director and founder of the local life insurance chamber.
He assists some of the most important companies in Argentina, both in pensions and in insurance, with a focus on life insurance companies.
On the benefits side, he is in charge of assisting companies such as MS&D Argentina, AGFA, and SKF.
In the insurance field, he is or has been in charge of the actuarial work for Metropolitan Life, MAPFRE, HDI Argentina, and others.
He led the project for developing the law which rules the new insurance environment in Argentina, advised the Economy Ministry on risk-based capital requirements, and advised the Pension Superintendency of Bolivia on life risks from the social security system. The three projects were financed by the World Bank.
