Tanya Hayward joined Milliman in April 2016 as a consulting actuary in Milliman’s London office. Tanya transferred to Milliman’s San Diego office in January 2020.
Experience
Tanya has more than 10 years of healthcare experience. Before joining Milliman, Tanya worked in the private health insurance industry in South Africa and the UK. Tanya’s key areas of experience include:
- Analysis of public sector regional healthcare economies with a particular focus on benchmarking, financial projections, and population segmentation
- Reviewing health plan bid materials on behalf of state employee health plans and other active purchasers of healthcare
- Calculating actuarial values
- Developing capitation structures to enable risk sharing between national regional segments and private organizations
- Performing actuarial analysis to quantify the financial impact of proposed legislation changes relating to healthcare benefit coverage
- Conducting investigations and reporting on drivers of claims experience and providing recommendations based on the resultant findings
- Using sophisticated risk adjustment techniques for provider profiling and experience analysis
- Conducting independent reserving reviews for regulatory bodies
