Sung Hoon is a principal and consulting actuary with the life insurance consulting practice of the Seoul office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 2002.
Experience
Prior to joining Milliman, he worked for a reinsurance company as an actuarial and marketing assistant in several markets for six years. He moved to Korea in September 1999 to work closely with local clients. During that time, he introduced his clients to the value proposition of using reinsurance as a risk-management tool.
Since joining Milliman, most of his work has focused on financial projections of life insurance companies. He works with clients on mergers and acquisitions, U.S. and Korean GAAP reserve valuation, financial projections, embedded value analysis, development of business plans, and MG-ALFA® installation. He also has worked closely with life insurance associations on numerous industry projects.
