Catherine Knuth
Catherine Knuth is a principal and consulting actuary with the Milwaukee office of Milliman. She rejoined the firm in 2007.
Experience
Catherine’s areas of expertise are PACE (Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly), Medicare Part D, and group healthcare programs. She leads a team of consultants and other professionals in developing PACE Part D bids, performing revenue and payment reconciliation estimation and auditing services, and analyzing prescription drug claims data for revenue, cost, and quality improvement opportunities.
Catherine also assists health plan and employer clients with benefit strategy, plan design, pricing, experience analysis, financial projections, provider contracting analysis, post retirement medical valuations, and liability estimation.
Catherine’s experience includes eight years as a director of small group actuarial services for a national publicly traded health insurance corporation. While there, she worked closely with underwriting, sales, product development, and market leadership to ensure proper balance between growth and profitability and to create understanding regarding risk management and financial implications associated with various small-group opportunities. Catherine was responsible for the monthly multifunctional process used to make pricing and underwriting decisions, as well as for maintaining segment-level financial projections, the small-group manual rate formula, the small-group renewal rating process, and the predictive modeling process.
