Experience
Melanie's areas of expertise include:
- Developing commercial and personal lines rates using advanced ratemaking techniques, including rates for emerging markets and technologies with limited data
- Preparing rate and rule filings to facilitate efficient multistate regulatory reviews, including those for rigorously regulated environments
- Developing insurance products, including underwriting and filing support, for existing and emerging markets
- Designing and automating pricing and reserving insurance processes to improve efficiency and profitability
- Pricing catastrophe risks, especially wildfire risks
- Developing predictive models
Prior to joining Milliman in 2021, Melanie was a commercial lines account manager at HUB International Insurance Services where she specialized in film and television risks, managing a book of high-profile accounts, including Fortune 500 motion picture studios.
