Ladd E. Preppernau
Ladd Preppernau is a principal and consulting actuary in the Portland, Oregon, office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 1999.
Experience
Ladd works solely with multiemployer plans serving as consulting actuary. He assists clients with all aspects of pension plan management, including actuarial valuations, funding projections, plan design, experience studies, funding strategies, legislative impact studies, plan administration, and participant communications. Ladd currently serves as the national chair of Milliman’s multiemployer strategic practice group.

- Legislative change modeling
Ladd is a frequent speaker at professional employee benefit meetings on issues affecting multiemployer pension plans, including the annual conference of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. Recent topics have included withdrawal liability, alternative plan design, and the impact of maturity on pension plan risk.
