Ariel is a consulting actuary in the Buenos Aires office of Milliman and joined the firm in September 2013.
Experience
Ariel has more than 15 years of experience in the insurance and consulting industry.
Before joining Milliman, he worked for six years in RSA as regional actuary for the Latin American region and 10 years at Towers Watson as an actuarial consultant.
During his professional career, Ariel has led several pricing, reserving, and planning projects across the Latin American region.
At Milliman, he provides services to insurance companies in the Latin American region in topics such as:
- M&A/Due Diligence
- Local regulatory requirements
- Life insurance modeling, EV
- Development of insurance strategic plans and financial analysis
- Pricing projects (modeling on GLM), performing technical models, and producing the street prices (considering optimization techniques)
- Actuarial reserve review
- Define underwriting strategy for personal and commercial lines of business
- New product development based on portfolio performance, market intelligence, legal developments, and emerging risks
- Provide training / courses to actuarial, underwriting, claims, and finance areas on technical-related subjects
- Develop tools for tracking and monitoring portfolio performance trends (loss ratio, combined ratio, frequency, severity, retention, etc.)
- Development of software tools (underwriting tools, dashboards, ratemaking, ultimate loss, IBNR projections, etc.)
- Technical reserve audit (statutory, IFRS)
- Performance and risk management
Ariel is a native speaker of Spanish and is fluent In English. He knows Portuguese at an intermediate level.
