Brad Piper
Brad Piper is a principal and consulting actuary with the Milwaukee office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 2000.
Experience
Brad works in Milliman’s Healthcare Practice. He assists clients with capitation rate development, benefit analysis, premium rate development, estimation of the impact of legislation reform, estimation of reserves and liabilities, and actuarial projections. He has also assisted MAPDs and employers with strategic planning, Medicare bid preparation, RDS attestation, contracting and risk sharing arrangements, and other issues related to Medicare.
Brad has worked with Medicare Advantage clients since the program’s inception in 2006. He developed Part C and Part D bids for Medicare Advantage plans in all stages of their operation, from startups to established plans with considerable enrollment. He has assisted with the development of hundreds of bids since the inception of the Medicare Advantage program.
In addition to bid development, he also assists with related Medicare Advantage work, including feasibility analysis of product launches, feasibility analysis of service area expansion, profit and loss analysis, comparisons of experience to fee-for-service levels, risk score assistance, development of Part D settlement estimates for financial reporting, and analysis of the impacts of provider shared-risk arrangements.
