Analysis of Together Senior Health’s RADAR algorithm to predict risk of undiagnosed dementia using claims data

11 November 2024

This report is intended to provide a statistical analysis of Together Senior Health’s family of models for predicting an individual’s risk of having undiagnosed dementia. The models, dubbed “Risk of Alzheimer’s and Dementia AlgoRithm” (RADAR), use a proprietary cognitive-impairment identification and stratification methodology. Together commissioned Milliman to evaluate RADAR, using administrative claims data. We also tested the impact of various modifications, including recalculating the model weights and evaluating the marginal efficacy of including new prediction variables. The report’s summary of results includes discussion of:

  • C statistics
  • Decile-based statistics
  • Threshold-based statistics
