Insights into cost patterns and actionable factors in newly diagnosed Type 2 diabetes

3 January 2022

This report analyzes healthcare claims data to measure the actual total costs incurred by patients newly diagnosed with type-2 diabetes in each major insurance type. We look at how clinically documented levels of glycemic control, or body mass index, influence these costs, rather than potentially subjective self-reported survey information. We compare the costs per person per year in the year before diagnosis with the costs in years one and two after diabetes diagnosis.

This report was commissioned by Lark Health.
