Medicaid managed care financial results for 2019

The majority of Medicaid state agencies use managed care to deliver services in their Medicaid programs. Managed care dates back to Medicaid’s inception, and its use has significantly expanded. Today, nearly every state uses some form of managed care, including comprehensive risk-based managed care, primary care case management, or limited-benefit plans. This report summarizes the CY 2019 experience for selected financial metrics of organizations reporting Medicaid experience under the Title XIX Medicaid line of business on the National Association of Insurance Commissioners annual statement.
