Two articles on lung cancer screening in the October issue of JAMA Oncology suggest great progress in the battle against the disease, which has the highest number of deaths among all cancers. This editorial discusses the optimism of one study, by Toumazis et al, due to its finding that lung cancer screening is economically practical. Yet we note how the other study, by Ganti et al, provides evidence that the implementation of lung cancer screening is slow and inconsistent.
