The fifth annual Milliman Multiemployer Health and Welfare Study analyzes various financial disclosures nationwide for multiemployer health and welfare plans, also known as Taft-Hartley plans. This year’s report includes data for 1,261 plans covering approximately 4.7 million members as of 2020, the most recent year for which data is available. We found that net assets increased to 16.3 months of expenses in 2020, up from 14.1 in 2019, and the fourth straight year of a rise. In the report, we discuss:
