Identification and quantification of the precise impact of climate change on future healthcare use can be challenging. In this paper, we explore a conceptual framework for considering the impact of climate change on medical insurers and present some of the research we have done using historical data in the United Kingdom and Germany to help develop parameters for future modelling. The paper's main sections include:
- Climate change, health and healthcare usage
- Modelling considerations
- Key risks for medical insurers
- Examples of potential climate change impacts
